Welcome! My name is Sylvia, and I've been a sommelier for 20 years. I've worked in many restaurants, as well as a wine merchant in a wine shop, along the way through Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Tulle, Poitiers, and New Jersey (USA).
Now based in Alsace, passionate about my craft and keen to share what I know, I decided to start my own home wine-tasting business and to create a tasting club open to everyone. I teach how to taste a wine (the three steps: sight, smell and taste), the aromas of the different grape varieties, growing methods, etc. I work mainly with independent winemakers and serve tapas paired with every wine, with the idea of giving you ideas for your next meals with friends or family.
I also work in a biodynamic vineyard. It was an obvious choice, a wish of mine: to learn to work the vines, to be at the heart of it so I can deepen my knowledge and talk to you about terroir, winemaking, and many other subjects. Wine is, above all, about sharing!
I offer tasting classes in French and in English. The price varies depending on the theme you'd like to explore. See you soon!
